Hope4Cancer: Day Three: Dr. Mel —Exploring the Roots
“It’s almost like when you talk about hope floats. That’s what it felt like. I was floating, receiving this information.”
—Rochelle
It was only day three, but I was already impressed by how each day expanded and deepened my understanding of my mind, body, and spirit and how the three are one. Hallelujah, I was soaring!
For the five months before coming to Hope4Cancer, I had been spiraling into a tornado of confusion. “I am 60. I do not want to die!” That I knew. But I felt like what I believed to be valid concerns were being discredited: my questions regarding my diet, my stress levels, and my life choices seemed to be met with disdain or had simply been rebuffed. It appeared that Western medicine relied on a generalized playbook—a one-size fits all style of treatment. And woven into this treatment style, even if unintentionally, were elements of fear and intimidation, with little room for personalized compassion or a holistic treatment plan.
Praise God, H4C was a vast departure from this.
This was the day I met Dr. Mel. We discussed the seven principles of healing your body, created by the founder of Hope4Cancer, Dr. Tony:
Non-Toxic Cancer Therapies
ImmunoModulation
Full Spectrum Nutrition
Detoxify
Oxygenation
Restore Microbiome
Emotional and Spiritual Healing
I was encouraged to ask questions about all aspects of my treatment. The doctors wanted me to know I was part of the team, that they were not just planning my treatment for me but planning it with me. Finally. Relief. This was not the first calm to wash through my mind, body, and spirit, but it was undoubtedly the most significant.
Dr. Mel reviewed the steps we’d take to tailor my treatment. We needed to check my lymph system and my liver to determine if any seeds might still be alive and to ensure we continued to nurture my immune system while killing any cells that fed me and my body. But checking for cancer is only part of the program; they also attempt to reveal the root causes of your cancer. So, we also examined my history of hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s disease, checked my spleen for infection from a previous illness, and agreed to explore the possibility of Lyme disease contributing to the depletion of my immune system.
We talked less about killing cancer and more about healing the body so that cancer could not grow, and he told me more about my body than I’ve ever heard in my life. He provided a lifetime of multi-perspective analysis of how to heal me, then laid out a non-toxic, Rochelle-tailored treatment plan, including what I needed to work on physically so that I would not have a reoccurrence of cancer.
Dr. Mel certainly broadened my perspective on creating a healthier life and raised my understanding and acceptance of body, soul, and spirit as essential parts of a whole person. This resonates with me for my healing.
“Like Spanish being a foreign language to me, so were the principles at Hope4Cancer on how to heal and live. But when it’s being taught in a language of love and spirit, the hope was everywhere.”
—Rochelle
